Review: Good case
Pros: Looks nice. Feels good quality.
I love the elegant design. The red plastic around side panels add some colors to this case. BTW, those transformer-look case are just stupid…
Good Cable Management. Spend some time, and you’ll be able to hide most of your cables.
Case Fans are great. You only need to connect one molex connector to control three LED fans. The rear fan is a 3-pin. ( I use a Corsair H50. So I have to take out the rear fan to install the radiator. )
The case is large enough to fit a 5850. I am sure it’ll fit two of them;
Side-face HDD cage makes installing HDDs easy.
Tool-less design actually works.(very rare…)
Filters for intake fans.
Cons: 2.5 HDD placement could be better.
Only three external 5.25 bays. ( For those who need DVD burners, blue ray players, LED displays, Multimedia Stations… But it doesn’t matter to me. I didn’t even install an optical drive.)
Right side panel is difficult to take off. ( It took me 8 minutes… and see other thoughts)
A little bit pricey?
Other Thoughts: I was frustrated for keeping trying take off right side panel. After 8 minutes, I figured out… You can take off the front panel first, then the right sinde panel… maybe it’ll save you some time.
It definetely worth 100 bucks….
Go get it, you won’t regret.
Review: Awsome Case!
Pros: Plenty of internal room without being too large
Nice flat black finish, inside and out
Looks great
Comes with four big fans, no need for additional ones
Fans are pretty quiet, even on higher settings
4 front USB ports
Fan has 6 options – Blue, Green, Red, Cycle through RGB, Cycle through mixed colors, Off.
Front fan control knob
Nice wide honeycomb mesh over fans
Easy Hard drive install – just put from 3-5 screws (I put 5, but it looks like it would hold fine with three) and slide it in and it locks.
Good wire management – There are slots in the piece between the motherboard and the HDD rack, so you can run cables through it
Top-mount buttons and ports are great if the PC is on the ground
Side panel fan has a nifty power mechanism so that there are no wires to unplug while taking the side panel off.
Cons: No front firewire (not that I use it, may be an issue for some though)
PSU was a little awkward to get in
The piece over the PSU that holds the 2.5” drives was somewhat cumbersome
Fan color cycle doesn’t remember what setting it was on after powering off – always starts up blue
The PCI slot insets are the cheap type that you have to punch out, and can’t be re-used, except for the top PCI card.
I had some difficulty getting the right side panel (the one without the fan) off. It was tight, and difficult to get a good grip on
The instruction manual is worthless, but it’s a case. You can figure it out.
The molex power connector for the fans is by the rear of the hard drives. Fine if you are using IDE drives and have power back there, but if you’re using SATA, it would be more convenient if the cable was about 8” longer and could be run down to the PSU area
Other Thoughts: Reading some issues with the fans. I had no problems. There is a molex connector for the three clear lighted fan (top, left side, and front) that is behind the HDD rack (you need to take the right panel off to get to it). However, the black fan on the back of the case has its own 3-pin connector, which was also back there. I had to re-route that cable to the motherboard fan header, but now everything is working fine. So don’t forget that there are two power connectors for the fans, and both must be used (4 pin molex for lighted fans and 3 pin header for the normal fan). You have to poke around the fan wiring to find the 3 pin connector, because it’s little. The molex should be readily visible.
