Motherboard Bundle FAQ:
Q. What is a motherboard bundle?
A. A motherboard bundle from us is much more than just a motherboard, CPU, and memory. We install the CPU on the board, mount the fan, and install the memory. We then power up and test the bundle on the workbench

Q. Are all parts factory new?
A. Yes. We do not recycle or restock returned parts to inventory. All parts used on bundles are new.

Q. Why do you prefer to sell bundles? What if I wish to use my own memory or CPU?
A. Our bundle sales have evolved over a period of time. At first, all of our sales were for parts, and we offered integration at a fee. The return rate was well over 25%, and, when testing the returned product, we found most of it to be good. We realized that most of the returns were caused by the incompatibility of parts or user error in integrating the parts. With bundling, we've found that the return rate has dropped below 3%.
If sold as a bundle, we do not drop out the CPU or memory. Installing all parts and testing them together is the key reason that our bundle success rate has been high. If you wish to use your existing memory with the new bundle, we cannot guarantee that it will work properly.

Q. Do you really test the bundles? How?
A. All bundles are tested. Our testing process varies by motherboard, and is designed to turn up issues most commonly found with the motherboard. Testing time generally runs 45-90 minutes, and is sufficient to keep us from shipping DOA or unstable bundles.

Q. Do I get everything I would get if I bought the parts separately?
A. Absolutely. All disks, cables, and documentation that come with the original product are included with the bundle.

Q. Do I get the retail boxes for the CPU and motherboard?
A. The original motherboard box is provided in originally intact form, not flattened. The CPU box is flattened and also included.

Q. What brand and type of memory is used on the bundles?
A. We generally use Kingston (lifetime warranty) memory, though other options may be available. We use the correct speed for the bundle ordered. Paired memory is always from the same batch lot.

Q. Will the bundle fit in my case?
A. For white-box computers (IE, not Dell, HP/Compaq, Gateway) that use a standard case, the odds are good that it will fit. There are two main designs for desktop computers, ATX and Micro-ATX (MATX). On the back of the computer surrounding the mouse & printer ports you should have a removable IO Shield. This shield comes with the new motherboard. On very rare occasions the case is all steel and does not use a re moveable shield. If this is the situation with your case you will probably need a new case.

Q. Are the bundles shipped assembled?
A. We ship all bundles completely assembled.

Q. How soon will the bundle ship?
A. Bundles usually ship the 2 - 3 days following your order.

Q. If I buy a bundle, what else might I need to make the upgrade complete?
A. You'll want to make sure you have a compatible power supply and video card. For Intel bundles, the power supply must have the AT12V connector, a square 4-pin Molex connector. Power supply wattages should be 300 watts or better for a standard ATX or MATX bundle. Be sure to ascertain that your video adapter will work in the new board. For example, some motherboards are AGP 8x only, they will not work withAGP 4x video cards. If you're getting a new PCI Express bundle, it won't work with AGP cards.
